The Virginia city Pony Express was inaugurated on August 11, 1862, this cover cancelled six days later is the EARLIEST RECORDED COVER. The first mentioned in the Nathan & Boggs book of 1962 is of September 23, 1862 ! A MAJOR RARITY.
